FOLLOWERS RUNESTONES BANNER PVP

FOLLOWERS

1Diablo III will also include three different followers. In Diablo III, followers can have a weapon, two rings and a special item that is specific only to followers.

A player may only bring one follower with them at a given time, however the player may choose to swap to a different follower if they have completed questlines to gain the loyalty of more than one follower.

Each follower will gain one of three skills / spells (chosen by the player) at levels 5, 10, 15, and 20. There are twelve skills in total for each of the three followers, as listed below:

RUNESTONES

There are more than twenty skills per class, and a player can choose to access up to seven of those skills at any one time. Skills primarily allow characters to perform special attacks and cast spells, but they can also activate defensive abilities, summon minions, set traps, or allow the player to navigate the battlefield through quick travel and escape mechanics. While these skills always present players with plenty of tactical options for defending Sanctuary against the coming demonic invasion, runestones allow you to customize skills by changing the way they look and how they function.

There are five runestone types: Crimson, Indigo, Obsidian, Golden, and Alabaster. Each runestone affects skills differently. For example, adding a Crimson Runestone to a skill may enhance its damage, while adding an Alabaster Runestone might add a stun effect.

You’ll be able to place a runestone in each of your seven skills by opening the Skills screen. A rune’s specific effect on a skill is explained through a tooltip.

In addition to their color, runestones also come in different ranks of power; the higher a runestone’s rank, the more dramatic its effect on the skill. Experiment, and discover which skill and runestone combination best suits your personal playstyle.

Some examples of how different runestones enhance your various skills are below.

Witch Doctor's Poison Dart skill:

  • Regular - Blows out a dart
  • Crimson - Adds fire damage
  • Indigo - Adds multiple darts
  • Obsidian - Slows target
  • Golden - Steals mana
  • Alabaster- Blows out a snake that stuns the target

Witch Doctor's Plague of Toads skill:

  • Regular - Summons poison toads
  • Crimson - Changes toads to deal fire damage
  • Indigo - Causes the toads to rain down
  • Obsidian - Giant toad that eats monsters
  • Golden - Reduces mana cost
  • Alabaster - Blinds target

Barbarian's Weapon Throw skill:

  • Regular - Throws a weapon for basic damage
  • Crimson - Adds damage
  • Indigo - Adds ricochet
  • Obsidian - Turns into a stunning hammer
  • Golden - Throw a corpse instead of a weapon
  • Alabaster - Confuses target

Wizard's Hydra skill:

  • Regular - Summons a fire-spitting hydra
  • Crimson - Hydra projectile changes to short-range frost
  • Indigo - Creates a never-missing lightning Hydra
  • Obsidian - Adds acid element
  • Golden - Giant Hydra that creates fire walls
  • Alabaster - Changes to an AoE arcane type

BANNER

The Banner System is basically Diablo III’s achievement system. It’s a visual representation of your overall progression in the game, and can be viewed by and compared with your friends. The Banner consists of many aspects of your character progression – where they’re at, what bosses have they cleared, at what difficulty did they clear it, etc. It is also the only way to show your PvP prowess and achievements since there’s no ladder. As you unlock more achievements, you can then choose to customize your banner’s appearance and show what you want.

Here You can see starting banner. It basic and looks blank.

This banner on the other side says Iam baddass and dont mess with me.

PLAYER VS PLAYER - PVP

PvP (short for 'player versus player' combat) has had a storied history in the Diablo series. For Diablo III, we've decided to take it in a new direction to ensure that it's deep, organized, frantic, and fun.

Diablo III's PvP battles are fought in arenas spread out across the world of Sanctuary. These arenas aren't random -- they're all unique, designed with differing amounts of terrain and cover. You participate in PvP using the character of your choice, with access to all of the gear and skills you've accumulated playing the game in single-player or cooperative mode.

You'll learn many of the fundamentals of PvP (like how to avoid attacks or target specific foes) by playing the single-player game, but PvP differs in that it isn't an ideal venue for gathering new weapons and armor. Your rewards for shedding blood in the arena are purer than that: bragging rights, the joy of sending friends old and new to their swift and inglorious deaths, and points that represent how far you've progressed on the path to fame and glory.

When you participate in ranked games (fights that pit two opposing teams of players against each other in 'best of' matches), you'll earn points for advancement based on kills, accomplished objectives, wins, and other factors. Points lead to multiplayer achievements, titles, and more. Our system is focused on encouraging furious combat and multiplayer progression, not stringent competitive rankings, so you'll earn points after every match and Battle.net matchmaking will pit you against similarly skilled opponents.

We're also looking into other PvP game types that exist outside the ranking system, like 1-on-1 duels and mutually chosen team battles (for example, you and your friends could divide into two teams for an arena showdown). We'll have more information on the availability of these game types in the future.

Our aim for Diablo III's PvP is to set you up with dangerous, exciting gladiatorial matches, let you battle it out with other players at your own pace, and allow you to proudly display your rewards. We've added a robust system to remove the obstructions that may have kept you out of the action, so that you can focus on what really matters: answering the age-old question of 'who would win in a fight' -- with a gauntlet to the face.

Blizzard wants Diablo III to be a co-op experience instead of a competitive experience. So, while PvP matchmaking is available and team-based PvP arenas are in development, there will not be any ladders or rankings for PvP gameplay. Perhaps this will change in the long future, but right now, no plans. There are also no PvP tailored items to our knowledge. Basically, the vibe we’re getting is that if you want to min-max characters for PvP, play World of Warcraft; if you want to have a hardcore competitive experience, play StarCraft II.
